Hello human,

This week, I am curating products that are innovating in mental health/well-being space.

Today's Cool Product - FutureMe

FutureMe is technically not in the well-being category, but I include it here. FutureMe is a simple product - it lets you write an email today and deliver it at a future date. I wrote a bunch of letters to my future self and I love reading them.

As I started writing this article, I went back to look at my most recent letter from the past. It's a letter I wrote in 2020 for my post-MBA self in 2022. I am attaching a nugget from the email below to give you a picture. Your can be your future's biggest cheer leader and FutureMe lets you do that.

This article is close to my heart. Mindless scrolling, continuous binging, anxiety inducing commerce - welcome to the internet that locked us to our devices in the illusion of setting us free. We probably got here due to innocent product people making simple tweaks in an attempt to improve their engagement and retention metrics. I'm guilty too.

Over the past few decades, we have helped build a corporate culture that systematically prioritizes short-term gains over longer-term product health.

The result? We are not in control of our initiative, effort, or time anymore. This article talks about 10 beautiful and practical ways through which designers and product managers can change how human-technology relationship works. Don't miss reading and remembering this when you design software next time.
